Young Bangladeshi artist Sourav Chowdhury visited Russia at the invitation of international union of artists “Sunny Square”. Sourav Chowdhury, National and international prize-winner in graphic arts work with the Gallery Cosmos in Dhaka. He went on a tour of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vologda and Cherepovets, displayed his works to the Russian public and took part in the open-air painting session, which is traditionally held by the “Sunny Square” in the village of Vladimirovka, Vologodskaya oblast.
On June 29, 2017 Sourav Chowdhury’s solo painting exhibition titled “Eternal Existence – Circle of Dynamism” was inaugurated at the Academy of Professional Development and Retraining of Educators in Moscow. The event was attended by Russian Ambassador to Bangladesh H.E. Alexander Ignatov, President of the “Sunny Square” union and founder of “Sunny Square” painting school in Moscow Sergey Radiuk as well as other established and young artists. On July 4, the second exhibition by Sourav Chowdhury was opened at the Cherepovets Museum Union. The artworks by Sourav Chowdhury attracted a lot of public attention both in Moscow and Cherepovets.
In July Sourav Chowdhury worked together with Russian and foreign artists en plein air in Vladimirovka. All the paintings created at the open-air painting session were displayed at the exhibition titled “Sunny Square: 20 Years with Igor Severyanin” at the Cherepovets Museum Union on July 20-29.
During his stay in Russia, Sourav Chowdhury got acquainted with Russian modern art, visited the largest museums and galleries with unique collections of masterpieces of Russian and international art. The Bangladeshi artist exchanged experience with his colleagues from Russia, Belgium, Germany, India, Vietnam and other countries, participated in joint workshops and artistic programs.
